Cathy Wade is an artist, writer and academic whose work is concerned with how art can be created and distributed in collaborative partnerships and through the creation of commons. Her work seeks to understand the experience of contemporary conditions through exchange and collaboration with others. She runs Black Hole Club, Vivid Project’s artist development programme and the MA in Arts Education Practices at BCU. Current projects include ‘Queens Academy’ an experimental institution hosted within in the B16 postcode area and the Intercontinental Residency Exchange ‘Letters’, Anne-Liis Kogan hosted by Kunst Vardo.
She has undertaken residencies & fellowships with Longbridge Public Art Project 2013-2017, Birmingham City University Wheatley Fellowship for 2015-2016 and Repeator at The Office for Art Design and Technology in 2017. Publications include Slide Tape (2018) Edited by Mo White, Delineator (2014), After Carl (2014) and As We Alter It (2017).
Presented by Mansions of the Future as part of their Urban Form: Social Architecture & The Commons season. This programme of activity marks the start of the Mansions of the Future’s legacy year (2019 – 2020), which intends to engage artists, architects, academics and local citizens in conversation and debate around the past, present and future of Lincoln’s social and civic life, within the context of the local built environment.
