Medusa’s Ankles Film Premiere

Inspired by a short story by Man Booker Prize winning author A.S Byatt, Medusa’s Ankles, is a short film by Bonnie Wright, staring Kerry Fox, Jason Isaacs & Chanel Cresswell. The story follows the experiences of a middle-aged university lecturer as she visits a beauty salon. A copy of French artist Matisse’s painting, “Rosy Nude” attracts her into the salon. Her self-image & desire to maintain a natural hairstyle are central to the story as is her relationship with the salon owner. A theatrical and dramatic work which points out the many differences in the way we view ourselves and the way in which we are viewed by others. This installation offers a unique opportunity to experience  the film within a working hair salon.

The screening will last 20 minutes. Please ensure that you arrive atleast 5 minutes before your screening is due to begin.

There will be limited seating in both indoor and outdoor waiting areas. There are no bathroom facilities onsite, the nearest public toilet is at the bus station.
