Open Call for Featured Actors
PROJECT ZED – A radio play by artist Ruth Beale.
In Spring/Summer 2020 Mansions of the Future is presenting a new radio play by London based artist, Ruth Beale. Project Zed was co-written with prisoners at HMP Lincoln in Autumn 2020.
Through discussions surrounding civic engagement and responsibility, a self-selected group worked together, alongside Sonia Rossington to devise the characters and plot. The play was further developed by Ruth Beale and writer/dramaturg Anita Sullivan.

Mansions of the Future is now looking for local actors to feature in this exciting radio play, ahead of the finalised project being aired nationally through press partners and the National Prison Radio network.
Ruth Beale and Mansions of the Future are recruiting actors for three of the five parts. These are a paid opportunities open to both students, amateurs and professionals.

The fees are £300 inclusive for the lead role (Part 1) and £200 inclusive for each of the supporting roles (Part 2 & 3).
Application Deadline: Midnight Sunday 8 March
Applicants must be available for the following dates:
Casting: Monday 16 March, 4:00pm – 8:00pm
Rehearsal: Wednesday 8 April, afternoon/evening tbc
Recording: Thursday 9 April,full day for lead role, half day for supporting roles

Please refer to character profiles to consider the role you’d be most appropriate for and send one or both of the following:
- A link to a show reel or video or audio examples of work.
- A short audio recording of one of the characters, using the example scene attached (max 10MB)

You may apply for more than one character.
Please indicate if you have any preferences regarding the casting session time on Monday 16 March (e.g. before 5:00pm or after 6:00pm).
